A luminous sky of ochre, antique gold and ivory breaks through a gathering of charcoal and slate grey, while fractured forms of white, silver and burnt orange surge across the composition. The landscape appears to shift and dissolve, caught in a moment of elemental upheaval.

Through expressive mark-making, layered colour and dynamic movement, Raads explores the emotional power of landscape. Light becomes an active force within the painting, cutting through darkness and illuminating fragments of a world in flux. Rather than depicting a place literally, she seeks to capture its atmosphere: the unpredictable energy of nature and the beauty that emerges from disorder.

Part of the Cartography collection, the work reflects an ongoing exploration of place, memory and emotional experience.
